Having supported the NSPCC for over 30 years, Philip’s growing relationship with NSPCC Jersey led to the Foundation purchasing a building in Stopford Road, which in 2013 was donated to the NSPCC after being completely refitted. It is now an award-winning centre.
At The Gower Centre the NSPCC supports local families to help make sure children are given the best chance in life with several services including:
Baby Steps; (run for 5 years) helping parents cope with the pressures of having a baby. Now a service run by Family Nursing and offered to every woman Island wide.
Letting the Future In; an extremely important programme which helps abused children move towards a positive, safer future.
Speak Out. Stay Safe; a programme which is delivered to schools using appropriate methods to talk to primary school children about abuse; such as the highly successful Pantosaurus character, educating children to keep themselves safe, and used as a tool by parents to open delicate conversations with their children.
