Through life-changing work, KidsOut UK has given disadvantaged children positive experiences to support them becoming future members of our society and workforce. With many children never having walked on a beach, never received a gift, never been to a theme park or even into the countryside, KidsOut works to teach and remind thousands of children living with disadvantages, what it is like to just have fun.
The Foundation has supported KidsOut in the UK for many years and increased its funding so that its work could extend to Jersey. Its solo and cooperative activities are mushrooming, and include–
- Women’s Refuge – a box of toys for their children and Christmas presents.
Phyzzpod multi-sensory learning room projects (seen here) including a new one at Pip’s Place.
Rotary KidsOut Days at Amaizin! Adventure Park.
World Stories interactive website with stories from other cultures.
Special Needs Inclusion Project taking 200 autistic and other kids to the cinema.
Jersey Mencap providing 60 days out for children with a learning disability.
Jersey Childcare Trust with a Zoo visit for 50 children that deprived families could otherwise not afford.
